WELCOME TO A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE IN CONTINUING EDUCATION
Chuck and Julie LaFrano are committed to providing highly innovative, readily available hands-on Continuing Education courses. In a curriculum covering a range of aggressive to subtle advanced techniques, massage therapists can easily and effectively broaden the scope of their practices. LaFrano Massage Dynamics continuing education courses are unique: our courses present novel concepts and techniques clearly and comprehensively.
Together, we have been in the bodywork business for 26 years. We are very passionate about the work we put forth and are eager to share the knowledge and skills in these Continuing Education courses with you.
THE 'HEART' OF LMD TECHNIQUES: Proprioception is the physiological phenomenon that unites the mind with the body. It does this by connecting the space around us with our perceptions of our space and ourselves. How we perceive the world and our choices for interaction with it are turned into muscular response (and thus action) through our proprioceptors. They are the anatomical and physiological link between mind and body. When we as bodyworkers learn to connect with the action and dynamic of the proprioceptive organization of our clients' bodies, we more readily create changes that last. Underlying all of our courses at LMD is the principles of bodywork involved in communication with our clients' basic dynamic organization--- Proprioception.
CUSTOMIZABLE COURSES AND PROGRAMS: We have regularly scheduled weekend classes. Also, courses can be completely customizable to your needs. That means you can schedule a CE course during the week, in the evening, morning, or afternoon--virtually any time frame that works for you. The classes are designed to be 20 hours long, but they can easily fit practically any time frame. For example, if you need 6 CE hours to complete your requirements, you can take 6 hours of any of our courses. Contact us and we can create a class to suit your needs. 630-699-7199 ceinfo@lafranomassagedynamics.com
WE TAKE OUR SHOW ON THE ROAD: LaFrano Massage Dynamics has its home base in Naperville, IL. We also travel to virtually any location to conduct our classes. We have taught in Pittsburgh and New York City, so we can certainly come to you. Depending on the distance, there are requirements for the number of participants. A PERSONAL NOTE FROM CHUCK LAFRANO: LaFrano Massage Dynamics is about shared understanding, inspiration, and an adventure of discovery. I have been teaching massage therapy classes for 20 years: it is one of the highest passions in my life. I love the massage class dynamic: the excitement generated in the exploration of concepts and technique, the exchange of perspectives, the joy of realization.
Previously I have taught at the Wellness and Massage Training Institute, an excellent school that was dedicated to sound, basic and advanced massage principles. In my new endeavor here, working in the Continuing Education realm with licensed and established massage therapists, we can focus on advanced massage therapy concepts and techniques, and explore them at a higher, broader level and a deep intensity.
My goal and my passion are to make each of the classes intriguing, fascinating, highly informative, entertaining, and, foremost, instantly applicable to participants’ practices and clients. Julie, who is well-versed in all these techniques, and I will be sure each and every participant understands the concepts behind the courses, and is able to competently perform all techniques. Join our journey into new realms within the infinite universe of massage therapy.
MISSION STATEMENT: LaFrano Massage Dynamics' purpose is to significantly improve the bodywork abilities and body knowledge of participants, and have them readily able to translate both of those into greater effectiveness with their clients in their practices.
A WORD ABOUT
CE REQUIREMENTS AND SCHEDULING: To keep a massage therapy license valid, 24 hours of Continuing Education must be completed every 2 years. Two of those hours must be ethics, and many ethics classes are 4 hours of credit. Therefore, we have designed a series of 20 hour CE courses and a 4 hour ethics class so participants can easily fulfill the required hours. Our initial offering of courses are scheduled on Friday evenings – four hours, Saturday – eight hours, Sunday – eight hours, plus a 4 hour Friday afternoon Ethics course, enabling participants to complete 24 hours in one weekend. Custom program scheduling is also available; contact us for details. 630-699-7199
